02) Woe to the man

Matthew 26:17-25; 27:1-10

For he will be delivered over to the Gentiles and will be mocked and shamefully treated and spit upon. And after flogging him, they will kill him, and on the third day he will rise.” Luke 18:32-33

He was selected

The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. Matthew 10:2-4

and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. Mark 3:19

He spoke of Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray him. John 6:71

“Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus. For he was numbered among us and was allotted his share in this ministry.” Acts 1:16-17

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

He was tempted

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be empted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. James 1:13

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not et you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it. John 12:6

“You shall not steal. Exodus 20:15

“What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?” Matthew 26:15

Then Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve.Luke 22:3

Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, Matthew 27:3

It was completed

“See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written about the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished. Luke 18:31

The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.” Matthew 26:24

Even my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me. Psalm 41:19

“He who has dipped his hand in the dish with me will betray me. Matthew 26:23

Then I said to them, “If it seems good to you, give me my wages; but if not, keep them.” And they weighed out as my wages thirty pieces of silver. Zechariah 11:12

And they paid him thirty pieces of silver. Matthew 26:15

Then the LORD said to me, “Throw it to the potter” – the lordly price at which I was priced by hem. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD, to the potter. Zechariah 11:13

So they took counsel and bought with them the potter's field as a burial place for strangers. Matthew 27:7

Then was fulfilled what had been spoken by the prophet Jeremiah, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him on whom a price had been set by some of the sons of Israel, and they gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord directed me.” Matthew 27:9-10
