15) The love demonstrated
Romans 5:1-11
that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:17-19)
Demonstration
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (verse 8)
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. (verse 6)
For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— (verse 7)
We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. (Isa 64:6)
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (verse 8)
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. (verse 6)
For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— (verse 7)
because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. . (verse 5)
Reconciliation
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. (verse 10)
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. (1 Jn 3:1)
Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. (v. 9)
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (v. 1)
Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. (Heb 9:22)
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)
Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. (v. 9)
More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. (v. 11)
