Unchanging Truth 1

Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. Psalm 73:1

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Asaph’s view of the ungodly 1

Their eyes swell out through fatness; their hearts overflow with follies. Psalm 73:7

For they have no pangs until death; their bodies are fat and sleek. Psalm 73:4

They are not in trouble as others are; they are not stricken like the rest of mankind. Psalm 73:5

But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had nearly slipped. For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. Psalm 73:2-3

Unchanging Truth 2

until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I discerned their end. Psalm 73:17

Asaph’s view of the ungodly 2

Truly you set them in slippery places; you make them fall to ruin. How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors! Like a dream when one awakes, O Lord, when you rouse yourself, you despise them as phantoms. Psalm 73:18-20

When my soul was embittered, when I was pricked in heart, I was brutish and ignorant; I was like a beast toward you. Psalm 73:21-22

Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. Psalm 73:23

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. Psalm 73:24

Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation. Psalm 119:98-99

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

But the serpent said to the woman,“You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5

Unchanging Truth 3

But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all your works. Psalm 73:28
