Psalm 147:1-20

Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good Psalm 106:1

Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting. Psalm 147:1

And I heard a voice from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps, and they were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. Rev 14:2-3

For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting. Psalm 147:1

Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre! Psalm 147:7

The Lord builds

The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcasts of Israel. Psalm 147:2

And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18

The Lord heals

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour.” And he began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”  Luke 4:18-21

The Lord provides

He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills. Psalm 147:8

He gives to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry. Psalm 147:9

He makes peace in your borders; he fills you with the finest of the wheat. Psalm 147:14

He gives snow like wool; he scatters frost like ashes. Psalm 147:16

He declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and rules to Israel. Psalm 147:19

Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting. Psalm 147:1
